Richard Conrad Hagstrom, 94, passed away on December 11, 2022 at CareOne in Millbury. Born in Worcester, MA, Richard was a lifelong resident of Millbury. A three year enlistment in the Marines gave Richard the ability to travel to France, Italy, Israel, Palestine, Algeria and Tunisia. Following the Marines, Richard graduated from Worcester Trade School and he went on to work at Heald Machine in Worcester, Carling Brewing Company in Natick and retiring from his position as a Millwright at General Motors in Framingham.
He loved working outside, being with family, spending time by the ocean in Ogunquit, Maine and taking long rides in the car.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Helen (Swett) Hagstrom, his brother, Robert Hagstrom and sister-in-law Betty-Jane. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Nancy (Johnson) Hagstrom; his daughter, Karen and her husband Michael Gurnick of Ashland; his son, Paul and his wife Janet (Lagerholm) Hagstrom of Charlton; his daughter Linda and her husband David Woisard of Warwick, R.I.; his daughter Lisa and her husband Paul Jacobs of Millbury; his son David Hagstrom of Orleans; his grandchildren, Amanda (Hagstrom) Poletta and her husband Joseph, Paul Michael Hagstrom and Justin Jacobs; his great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jace and Julian Poletta.
There are no calling hours and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to: The Salvation Army Worcester Citadel, 640 Main Street Worcester, MA 01608.
