Richard Halas Obituary
Born and raised in Chelsea, Mr. Halas was the son of the late Anthony and Phyllis (Giles) Halas, Jr. He was a retired driver for FedEx. Hawk enjoyed bowling with his friends and owner Chucky Vozzella at Central Park Lanes in East Boston. He was a pro candlepin bowler making nine appearances on Candlepin Bowling with Don Gillis as well as numerous other bowling shows. He was Bowler of the Year on the Senior Tour and is in the Candlepin Bowling Hall of Fame. Hawk has been a resident of Saugus for the past 5 ½ years and is a former Saugus Little League coach.
In addition to his wife, Hawk is survived by his two daughters, Colby O'Connor and Courtney Halas both of Saugus and two grandchildren, Evan and Hannah. He was predeceased by his brother Anthony Halas, III.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Hawk's memory may be made to the American Stroke Association at stroke.org.
SERVICE INFORMATION
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., SAUGUS on Monday from 4 – 6:30 p.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 6:30 p.m.

To the halas family I'm sorry for ur loss. Rich was a great guy I knew him for over 20 years met him on Newbury st in boston were I worked. The best part of my day is when I ran into the hawk used to love his stories and his quotes he would say. Gonna miss him alot wish I stayed in touch more with him. R.i.p brother rich u will be missed.
