Richard Hamm Obituary

Richard Lee Hamm, 79, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Piedmont Health and Rehab.

He was born November 12, 1946, in Rochester, New York to the late Richard John Hamm and Jane Louise Heckman Hamm. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He enjoyed watching baseball, traveling, camping, cooking Italian food, bowling, snow skiing, scuba diving, and hanging out with the guys at the cigar shop.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Preston Stahl.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Carol Grimard Hamm; son, David Hamm of Gaithersburg, MD; daughter, Lindsay Helms- Shermer (Josh) of Salisbury; brother, Lee Stahl (Brenda) of Rochester, NY; sister, Robyn Stahl of Rochester, NY; sister-in-law, Arlene Yoakam (Butch) of New Port Richey, FL; grandchildren, Harper, Emma, Zoey, Bode; numerous nieces and nephews and his dog, Callie.

A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. Monday (January 12) at Summersett Memorial Chapel.
