Richard Albert Hauser, 89, a native of Cardwell Virginia, resident of Morgan City, LA, passed away February 26, 2025, at home, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Richard was born November 23, 1935, in Lewisville, NC, the son of AC Hauser and Elizabeth Hinesdale Hauser.
Richard never met a stranger; he was always willing to help anyone.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Catherine Comeaux Hauser; two daughters, Deborah Olivier of Stephensville and Kim Cape and husband Mike of Houma; five grandchildren, Michael Aucoin and companion Bobbi Launey of Morgan City, Heather Booty of Morgan City, Stephen Darce and wife Wena of Raymond, MS, Brandon Darce and wife Heather of Sitka, Alaska, Laura Schmitt and husband Adam of Houma; six great-grandchildren, Jayme Winiger, Kaylee Richard and husband Taylor, Briana Toups and fiancé Dylan Fontenot, Abbie Schmitt, Madison Schmitt, and Jamey Darce; two great-great grandchildren, Bradlee and Archer Richard, and one great-great grandchild on the way, baby Richard; three sisters, Jane Layne, Jean Custalow of Virginia, and Arlene Monroe of Kentucky; brothers, Roy and Jimmy Hauser of Virginia; very special nephews and niece, Jesse and Christine Comeaux, Jesse Comeaux Jr., and Colby Comeaux; many other nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, AC Hauser; mother, Elizabeth Hinesdale Hauser; father-in-law, Ervin Comeaux; mother-in-law, Helen Morgan Comeaux; son-in-law, Eddie Olivier; brothers, Fred Hauser, Tom Hauser, and Leonard Hauser; sisters, Lorraine Gary and Ruth Bass.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Twin City Funeral Home with Father Francis Kayaye officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Twin City Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. After services, Richard will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
