Richard Thomas "Ricky" Hawkins

Richard "Ricky" Thomas Hawkins, age 69, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, December 1, 2025, at his home.
Born on December 1, 1956, in Franklin, TN, Ricky was the beloved son of Thomas and Jane Hawkins of Franklin, who survive him. He is also survived by his daughter, Kirsten (Trevor) McGee; his son, Blaine (Tessia) Hawkins; and his cherished grandsons: Case Smith, Brinkley McGee, and Chase Hawkins. Additional survivors include his sister, Amy (Jimmy) Hazelwood; nephews, Seth (Abby) Hazelwood and Adam Hazelwood; uncle, Charles (Alaana) Hawkins; his faithful little dog, Laney; and many loving cousins and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hugh and Pauline Hawkins, and Robert and Evelyn Noland.
Ricky spent more than 30 years as an owner-operator truck driver with Hawkins Trucking LLC, traveling countless miles and knowing the highways of America as few others could. He was an avid racing enthusiast, especially of late model dirt track racing, often journeyed to events in other states accompanied by his friend and Laney, his faithful little dog, and vacationing in Florida. Ricky loved having conversations with family and friends, and he lived life as fully as he could.
He was an active member of The Experience Church, where he faithfully served on the security team and with Cross Soldiers Ministries.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m.
