Richard “Dick” R. Hayes, age 68, longtime resident of Townline Road, Lodi, passed away unexpectedly at his home.
Born in Seneca Falls on March 12, 1957, Richard was a lifelong resident of the area. He attended Ovid High School and went on to build a life rooted in hard work and a love of the outdoors. Dick had worked at Hipshot Products in Interlaken for many years, and as an avid sportsman, he found peace in nature — especially while hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his children, Jacob (Heather) Hayes of Corning, NY, and Holly (Shawn) Tomb of Westfield, PA; grandchildren Cameron and Kade Hayes, and Emma and Kera Tomb; and his sister, Deborah (Richard) Mahoney. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob” and Wanda (nee Meeks) Hayes, and his sister, Lori McDonald.
Richard will be remembered as a strong, independent man who lived life on his own terms.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Ovid Food Pantry, c/o Ovid Federated Church, PO Box 340, Ovid, NY 14521
