Richard H. Heinichen, lovingly known as Rich, was born on September 25, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Carl and Selma Heinichen. He was a proud graduate of Xavier University and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army, including overseas service in Korea and Vietnam.

On August 14, 1965, Rich married the love of his life, Carol Luckman, beginning a partnership that spanned decades. After retiring from the military, Rich continued his commitment to service and learning by attending law school at Willamette University. He went on to have a distinguished career as an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Oregon.

A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Rich is survived by his children, Teresa (Tim) Williams and Rick (Cindy) Heinichen, as well as his beloved grandchildren, Tiffani (Justin) Zienhert and Carrie Heinichen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Selma and Carl; his sister, Lillian (Ferd) Hauser; and his brother, Carl (Elsie) Heinichen.

Rich volunteered generously in both church and civic life. He was an active member of the Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, he especially enjoyed playing golf and traveling with his beloved wife, Carol.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Church, 15651 SW Oregon Street, Sherwood, Oregon, on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. A Rosary will be prayed at 10:30 a.m., with a reception to follow the service.

Rich will be remembered for his service, integrity, dedication to others, and the love he had for his family and community.
