Richard Charles Herling

Richard (Dick) Herling, born in Madison, Wisconsin, on February 27, 1949, passed away in Mena, Arkansas, on August 14, 2025, at the age of 76. Richard graduated from Waukesha South High School in 1967. Shortly thereafter, he answered the call to serve his country and dedicated four years to honorably serving as a sergeant in the United States Air Force. His military service instilled in him a profound sense of duty and commitment that endured throughout his life. Following his service, Richard built a career with Payne and Dolan as an operating engineer with Local 139.
Richard belonged to a large and loving family. Survived by his wife of 25 years, Tammy J. Herling, and stepdaughter Melissa Jason. His children: Melissa and Richard, his sisters: Patti, Judie, Nancy, Susan, Sallie, Peggy, and Jennifer; and his brother: Geoff. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kathleen Herling, as well as his sister Sandi. He was dearly loved and will be forever in our hearts.
