Richard Charles Herring, known as "Ricky" to those who loved him, was born on March 21, 1977, in Dimmitt, Texas, to Richard and Patricia Herring. He passed away on March 17, 2025. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Power Church in Amarillo, Texas.
Richard is survived by his wife, Angela; stepson, Britton Milbern; son, Cody Herring; grandchildren Sawyer and Jamyson; parents, Richard and Pat Herring; sister, Tanya Park, and her husband, Scott Park, niece Tristen & nephew Charley; as well as his beloved pets, Izzy and Ladybug.
Richard graduated from Nazareth High School in 1995, after which he proudly served in the United States Navy. He trained in West Virginia and traveled to numerous locations around the world during his service. In his personal life, Richard was an avid Hot Wheels collector, enjoyed driving, and had a deep love for animals, always caring for them with devotion.
He is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, his step-grandfather, two aunts, one uncle and two cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to an animal shelter of your choice, in honor of Richard’s love for animals.
