Richard was born October 6, 1942 in Wilbur, Washington. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses, devoted at an early age of 12 when baptized October 15, 1954 in Roseburg, Oregon. He married his true love and lifetime partner, Linda Grist, in 1970 after knowing her for many years. It was a beautiful loving union, just shy of 54 years. Richard (Dick) enjoyed the hard work of his hands. He was a skilled musician and composed more than a few songs. Everyone who knew him appreciated his many talents but most of all, they knew him to be humble and strong, loving and loyal, friendly and joyful - always generous with encouraging words and a positive outlook for the future. Even though his illness was short-term, his remarkable disposition never changed. He faced adversity with both strength and courage. He would be the first to tell you it was his hope in the Bible's promises and his faith in his God, Jehovah, that provided him with what he needed to endure. He was exceptionally sweet and kind in every way, made friends easily and will be greatly missed until he wakes up when God will use his Son to free countless millions from that most unyielding of prisons, death! (John 5:28, 29)

They were the first couple I recall when I moved to Boise & was in the Boise West congregation 1975/76.
He was a humble, mature brother. By the way he conducted himself along with his comments... I'm sure he'll be missed until he stands up again....
