Richard “Rick” Monroe Jiles, age 72 of Kernersville, passed away January 30, 2026, after a short illness. He was born July 16, 1953, in Rainelle, WV to the late Jack and Betty Jiles. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his seven siblings and great grandchild Dakota Gray.
Rick was a Veteran of the United States Army. He retired from James A. Bailey Trucking Company where he drove a dump truck for many years.
Survivors include his wife Gale Jiles of 31 years; children include Leah Jiles Harris (Keith) of Brodnax VA, Angel Jiles (Scott) of Shinglehouse Pa, Roberta Vance of Raleigh NC, Laura Brown (Jamie) of Flovilla, Ga, Johnny Moore (Angel) of Oak Ridge NC and Crystal Tanner (Kevin) of Belews Creek NC; grandchildren include Chelsea and Brooke Harris, Richard Blauvelt, Casey Brown (Matt), Angel Brown-King (Kendale), Kenneth Brown (Jessica), Jimmy, Jon Ray and Breanna Moore, Wesley and Christian Gray and Jet Tanner; great grandchildren include Lilly Brown, Kayden Brown, Iyla Bolchalk, Olivia Brown, Kody Gray and Adalynn Gray.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with the Rev. Francis Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
