Richard Orlando Jordahl, age 93, of Hudson, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at Cambridge Senior Living in Hudson on August 16, 2025. Rich was born on December 5, 1931 in Baldwin, Wisconsin, to parents Andrew and Thilda (Olson) Jordahl and attended Baldwin High School. Rich enlisted in the United States Air Force at the tender age of 17, and served in Korea until 1953, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his country.

After his honorable service, he returned home and married the love of his life, Lois Fern on September 26, 1953. Together they would be blessed with two daughters.

Rich found his calling in the newspaper industry, beginning his career at the Baldwin Bulletin before moving to Hudson. There, he worked as an offset pressman for the Hudson Star Observer for an impressive 38 years.

Rich was not only a devoted worker but also a family man who took great pride in being a supportive father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was always present at their events to cheer them on. His gentle spirit and kindness touched the lives of all who knew him.

In his leisure time, Rich enjoyed participating in his bowling league, pitching horseshoes and caring for his dog, Simon. He cherished the yearly trips to the beach, with Fort Myers holding a special place in his heart, as many cherished memories were made there with his family.

Rich is survived by his children Christy (Joe) Simon and Sandy (Greg) Dodge; grandchildren Rachael (Zach) Simon-Miller, Molly (Adam) Hesselroth, and Jennifer Simon; great grandchildren Mallory Hesselroth, Theodore Hesselroth, Neil Miller and Ingrid Miller; sister-in-law Georgia Fern, brother-in-law James Johnson along with many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife Lois; parents Andrew and Thilda, brother Donald and sister Marian.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cambridge Senior Living and Adoray Home and Hospice for the wonderful care they provided Rich in his last year.

A memorial service for Rich will be held on September 3, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church in Hudson. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM with a service starting at 11 AM. Memorials are preferred to the First Presbyterian Church or to the family.

A private interment will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
