Richard E. Kenyon, 70, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
Born Thursday, March 18,1954 in Rockville Centre, New York, Richard was the son of the late Joseph and Frances Kenyon.
Richard was raised in Hicksville, Long Island, and was a graduate of Hicksville High School. He would further his education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
When he returned to Hicksville Richard began a longtime career in the restaurant business. He was working at Nathan's when an opportunity came to open a location in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Richard settled in Fort Lauderdale and eventually became a manager of multiple McDonald's locations throughout the area. In 2022 Richard retired and moved to Old Bridge to be closer to family.
Richard enjoyed spending his downtime reading, watching a good movie, and listening to classic rock. He enjoyed spending time at the beach and out on the golf course. He was a big fan of the NY Giants and NY Mets. When Richard moved back North, he became an avid lover of house plants, caring for them meticulously. He will be missed by all those who love him.
Richard was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Frances, and by his brothers-in-law, David Fox and David Callahan.
Richard is survived by his siblings, Diane Fox, Jeanne Callahan, Joseph Kenyon and his husband Stephen Ross, and Stephen Kenyon and his companion Mary Ann Campbell, by his nieces, Jill Marie Mullen and her husband Michael, Elizabeth Kloss and her husband Doug, and his nephew Paul J. Fox.
A memorial gathering will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey.
