Richard Kesner Obituary

Richard W. Kesner, Sr., 75, of Paw Paw, West Virginia passed away Monday, November 10, 2025 at the Martinsburg V.A. Medical Center.

He was born April 17, 1950 in Cumberland, Maryland and was the son of the late Eston Grant Kesner and Lydia Alice (Helmick) Kesner.

He was a 1968 graduate of Paw Paw High School, a U.S. Veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. and worked at Abex Corporation in Winchester, Virginia. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and the Paw Paw Church of Christ.

His wife, Ruby Joan Roksandich Kesner, preceded him in death on November 9, 2022. A brother, Eston Kesner, Jr., a sister, Mary Louise Frank, a grandson and a great-granddaughter also predeceased him.

Surviving are –

One son –

Richard "Richie" Kesner, Jr. (Emma) of Paw Paw

Twin daughters –

Mary Shoemaker of Augusta, WV

Sherri Abrell (Jason) of Paw Paw

Seven grandchildren –

Katie Abrell, Tristan Kesner, Jason Abrell, Jr., Gwendolyn Kesner, Jean Ann Abrell, Brett Shoemaker and Kara Abrell

And one great grandchild

The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Friday, November 14, at the Paw Paw Church of Christ, where a funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM with Evangelist Richard White officiating.

Interment will be at Woodrow Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Research.
