Richard Daniel Kidd

Richard Daniel Kidd, 74, of Trinity, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, at his home.

Born August 23, 1951, in Surry County, he was the son of the late Henry Glenn Kidd and Lorine Eads Kidd. Mr. Kidd enjoyed a successful career in textile manufacturing as the owner of High Point Elastic Company from 1976 until 1990. An avid gardener, Dan took great joy in sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and neighbors. He was also a flea market connoisseur with a deep appreciation for antique clocks. Known for his warm personality, he truly never met a stranger.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Faye Hodge, and her husband, Jimmy, and by his brother, David Kidd.

Mr. Kidd is survived by his wife, Melissa B. Kidd, of the home; three sons, Richard Daniel Kidd II and wife Nikki of Fort Bragg, Jeremy Dale and husband Garon Anders of Winston-Salem, and Brian Dale and wife Whitney of Thomasville; and five grandchildren, Dannika, Khloee, Kye, Reagan, and Madalyn. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Pat Kidd of Trinity.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 22, 2026, in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in Archdale, with the Reverend Tommy Kidd officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park.
