Richard Earl Kline, age 78 of Gahanna, OH, passed away at Mt. Carmel East on March 28, 2025. He was born on February 24, 1947 to the late Richard Kline and Eliza Jane Niemann (Kline) in Chillicothe, OH. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by step father Robert Niemann, in-laws William DeWeese and Juanita DeWeese. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Theresa (DeWeese) Kline, son Brian Richard Kline, in-laws William DeWeese (Connie), David DeWeese (Karen), Donald DeWeese, Thelma DeWeese, many nieces and nephews. After graduating from Chillicothe High School in 1965, he joined the Air Force and did tours in Vietnam, Montana and North Dakota. After serving his time he worked at Hals Trucking in Baltimore, OH until it was time for marriage, he found work at Fruhaufs in Columbus. There he met a friend who introduced him to Otis Elevator where he would love building high rises and repairing elevators until he retired. Working out of local #37 he spent time at Schindler, Dover, Montgomery, Unitec, Capital, Westinghouse and a few others. Rick loved golfing and took trips to Myrtle Beach. He also loved Las Vegas where he shook hands with Dean Martin and Ed McMan. 

Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Thursday from 10:30am until time of service at 11:30am, with Tom Billman officiating. Burial to follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, OH.
