Richard Krupinski, 75, Toms River, New Jersey, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Richard was born on March 6, 1950, in Jersey City, New Jersey, and grew up in downtown, Jersey City. He married and started his family in his hometown. In 1986, Richard and his family settled in Hazlet and in 1997, he relocated to Toms River. Richard worked as a special education teacher until transitioning to another call to serve when he joined the Port Authority Police of NY & NJ. Richard retired as a Port Authority Police Officer from the Lincoln Tunnel.
Richard was very dedicated and active with the AA community; he recently celebrated 40 years of sobriety. He was known to help anyone in need at the drop of a hat, especially those looking to start a sober lifestyle. Richard was an extremely generous person, always loving and kind, and was known for his loyalty amongst his friends. He loved the water and enjoyed working on his tan and listening to doo wop. He recently started "snow birding" to the Gulf Coast of Florida, which was always a favorite place of his to visit. Most of all, Richard was a loving father, brother, grandfather, and friend to many. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alphonse and Theresa (Rutkowski) Krupinski, and his brother, Mark Krupinski. Richard is survived by his beloved daughters, Melissa Marano and her husband, Nicholas, of Manalapan, Christina Rizzo and her husband, Vincent, of Holmdel, and Alexis Coleman and her husband, Scott, of Middletown, his previous wife and dear friend, Josephine Krupinski, and his loving siblings, Theresa Jakubowski and her husband, Jack, Maria Dundee and her husband, Tucker, and Peter Krupinski and his wife, Arlene. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Jaidan, Luca, Lena, Natalie, Joseph, and James; many beloved nieces and nephews, along with his treasured brothers and sisters of the AA community.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, June 28, 2025, from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM and Sunday morning, June 29, 2025, time to be announced, at Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A prayer service will be offered on Sunday morning, June 29, 2025, time to be announced, at the funeral home. In respect of Richard's wishes, he will be privately cremated.
