Richard Shane Lanning, 65, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Richard's main source of happiness stemmed from his role as a grandpa. His face would light up with joy at the sight of his grandchildren, whom he cherished beyond measure. Whether tinkering away in the garage and imparting his wisdom or time spent in treasure hunts with the little ones, Richard embodied the true essence of a proud grandpa.

Richard is survived by his wife, Donna Lanning; daughters, Tina Crane (Rick) and Alicia Robinson (Mike); grandchildren, Joshua Mifflin, Jacob Mifflin, Hailee Duncan, Gabby Robinson and RJ Duncan; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; and his faithful canine companion, Smoky Jo.
