Richard J. Lanza of Philadelphia, Pa passed away peacefully on January 14th 2026, at 90 years and 5 months of age with family members around him. Richard is the son of the late Pasquale and Santina Lanza and brother to the late Nicholas, Marian, Eleanor and Yolanda and is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was, as he called himself, "the last of the mohicans".

Richard served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960 on board the USS Spiegel Grove and retired from decades of service working at SKF bearings in Philadelphia Pa. Independent to his last day, he is and always will be an inspiration to all and will be dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors alike.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Friday, January 23rd from 10 to 11am at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 9304 Old Bustleton Avenue, Phila PA 19115. His Funeral Service will begin at 11am. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.

Will never forget you uncle Rich for all the fond memories like bribing me to go to church as a kid in the mountains just so I got a ride on his Vespa scooter and ice cream when we got home
