Richard (Dick) E. Livengood, of Arnold, MO, (84) passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis, MO. He was born April 21, 1941, in South Pekin, IL, the son of William D. Sr. and Zora Livengood.
Richard was a 1959 graduate of Forman High School (Manito IL) and a 1971 graduate of Highland Community College (Freeport, IL) and Rockford College (Rockford, IL) where he received his Bachelor of Science degree.
He started his career serving as a tool and die apprentice with General Electric from 1960-64 at Bloomington, IL. Richard worked at Delco Electronics at Kokomo, IN from 1964-67, as a tool engineer with Union Carbide from 1967-68. He joined the Micro Switch division of Honeywell in 1968 and worked in various management positions in Freeport, IL. After leaving Honeywell in 1986, he worked for AG Edwards & Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL). Richard worked for Huntley High School in Huntley, IL as a substitute teacher from 2005-21. He was a member of local Kiwanis and Elk's clubs for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Rhonda L. Livengood.
He is survived by his wife, Cathie Livengood (married in 1999) of Arnold MO; one brother Bill (Mary) Livengood of Manito, IL; one son Rhett (Robin) Livengood of Los Altos, CA; stepdaughter Dawn Hollerbach of Lockhart, TX, stepson Tim (Becky) Hollerbach of Imperial, MO; grandchildren Jenna (Christian) Mercer of Sacramento CA, Lindsay Livengood of San Diego, CA, Ryan Livengood of Los Altos, CA; and step-granddaughters, Kaylin & Emma Hollerbach of Imperial, MO.
Richard's family would like to thank the compassionate staffs at St. Luke's Hospital and de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis, MO, for their wonderful care. A celebration of life is planned for later this year.
