LACONIA ---- Richard W. Long, 78, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Granite VNA Hospice House in Concord, NH.

Dick was born on December 9, 1946, in Hollis, Long Island, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Nielsen) Long.

He was a 1964 graduate of Brewster Academy and in 1968 graduated from New Hampshire College (SNHU). Dick served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1969 – 1974.

Dick was the Executive Vice President/Treasurer at Laconia Savings Bank, where he was employed for 36 years.

Following his retirement Dick enhanced his building and plumbing skills working with several local tradesmen.

Dick was generous with his time. He was a Belknap County Commissioner and served on the Victory Lane Committee at NHIS. He was a member of the Belknap County Sportsman Club, Lions Club, Belmont Rotary, Morning Star Lodge, Ammonoosuc Valley Fish & Game Club and the Bektash Shriners Hospital.

Dick is survived by his wife Brenda (Roberts) Long, sons Jeffrey A. Long and his wife Edith, and Tracey J. Dube and his wife Kathleen, and five grandchildren, Jennifer Patten Desjardins, Robert Patten and his wife Sally, Ginger Atherton, Ryan Dube and his wife Katie, and Garrett Dube and his wife Jessica. He also leaves 13 great-grandchildren.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at South Road Cemetery, Belmont, NH.

For those who wish, the family suggests memorial contributions in Richard's name be made to the Morning Star Lodge #17, PO Box 932, Wolfeboro, NH 03894 and/or Granite VNA, 30 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301.
