Family & friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial visitation on Saturday, January 6th from 9 am – 10:30 am in the Vertuccio Smith & Vazza Beechwood Home for Funerals, 262 Beach St., Revere. Followed by a funeral Mass at 11 am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 250 Revere St., Revere, for Richard R. "Dick" Marini, Sr. who died on Saturday, December 16th following a brief illness, he was 89 years old. Interment will be held privately.
Dick was born in East Boston on January 20th, 1934, to his late parents, John & Alice (Cancian) Marini. He was one of five children raised & educated in East Boston. Dick was an alumnus of East Boston High School Class of 1952. Following high school, Dick enlisted in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War. In 1956, Dick married his wife Emily (Caggiano). The couple remained in East Boston, later moving to Weymouth and eventually Londonderry, NH in 2010. Dick was the proud father of two sons and a daughter. He was a man who was very artistic and appreciated many things in life but nothing more than spending time with his family and friends.
He is the beloved husband of the late Emily (Caggiano) Marini of 60 years. The loving father of Richard R. Marini, Jr. & wife Phyllis of Peabody, Laura Pike & husband Keith of East Bridgewater, & Paul J. Marini of Londonderry, NH. He is the cherished papa of Rachel Marini, Emily Goldman, Wesley Goldman & wife Chrissy, & Alicia Marini. He is the brother of 4 siblings living & deceased. Also lovingly survived by several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN, 38105.
