Richard Marklin

Richard Marklin, of St. Clair Shores, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, at the age of 81 years old.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce, children Al (Laura), Ron (Kathy), Michelle (Mark), Jeff (Barb), and Marcia (Dan) along with ten adoring grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He will also be deeply missed by his dear brother Ron, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Rich was a proud Army and National Guard veteran who served in Korea. He was a distinguished sharpshooter and marksman. He also worked in the printing industry for 35 years as a collator operator. He loved the Detroit Tigers, Red Wings, Lions (especially when they won LOL) golfing (he was an avid golfer and won many awards), boating and rescue dogs. He had a deep affection for chocolate ice cream, which paled only to the adoration he had for Joyce.
Visitation Sunday 2-8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. funeral service at the Wasik Funeral Home, Inc., 11470 Thirteen Mile Road (West of Hoover) Warren. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be given to The Alzheimer's Association, Wounded Warrior Project and Michigan Humane Society.
