Obituary
Richard "Dick" Charles Masters of Crestwood, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on August 28, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife and soulmate, Patricia "Pat" Whyte Masters; his mother, Vera Demaris (Simpkins); his father, Olan Boggs Masters; his brother, James Dudley Masters and his niece, Vicki Chamberlain Woody. He is survived by his three nieces: Patricia Pieron (Lake Milton, Ohio), Marolan Sunseri (Boardman, Ohio), Jane Miller (Canfield, Ohio), and his "Handley Avenue" family.
Dick Masters grew up in Youngstown, Ohio, and was a 1952 graduate of Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio. He had a very successful career in pharmaceutical sales with Pfizer Inc. After his retirement from Pfizer, he opened a clock shop at the Goss Avenue Antique Mall. He specialized in the selling and repairing of early American clocks.
He and Pat shared a love of nature: birds, wildflowers, butterflies and the outdoors in general. He passed that love onto many in his "Handley Avenue" family. Dick loved to compete (and win) in multiple sports: tennis, basketball, softball. He also enjoyed fishing and playing the horses. He was always into something. If you knew any of his "Handley Avenue" family, then you knew or had met Dick Masters. He was an important part in all of our lives.
On Friday, September 9, 2022, per his wishes there will be no formal visitation but an informal gathering at Stoess Funeral Home, 6534 West Hwy 22 (in the middle of Crestwood, KY) starting at 11 am and promptly leaving at 1 pm for Cave Hill Cemetery, 701 Baxter Avenue, Louisville, KY. There will be an informal celebration of his life at 2 pm at the cemetery.
In memory of Richard Masters, donations may be made to the Patricia Whyte Masters Scholarship Fund at Spalding University, 845 South Third Street, Louisville, KY 40203.

So sorry for your loss. Dick was a great man. He helped me as a young man being caring and interested in my life. We shared horse racing and handicapping for many years.
