Richard J. Mayronne passed away on April 8, 2024 at his home on Staten Island surrounded by his loving family.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who leaves behind his wife Veronica, sister Barbara, childhood friend of 80 years, Paul Geiger, 8 children, and 15 grandchildren.
He was a retired decorated inspector of the NYPD and served as a member of both the US Army and Marines.
He received his Bachelor's & Master's degree in Business Administration, Police Science, and Criminal Justice from St. John's University, NYIT, and John Jay College. He also taught Criminal Justice at Ocean County College.
His retirement was spent watching his favorite team, The Yankees. He never missed a game.
But at the end of the day his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His, was a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tunnel to Towers and American Heart Association.
Viewing: Hanley Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane Staten Island. Thursday April 11, 2-5 and 7-9pm.
Funeral Mass: Friday April 12, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, located across the street from the funeral home at 9:30am.
Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery 361 Sharrott ave.

Cousin Dickie introduced me into the Professional Uniform business which I enjoyed for almost 10 years. I looked up to Dickie throughout my life. I admired his professionalism. He will surely be missed. Love you Richard Mayronne.
