GOODYEAR, AZ – Richard "Dick" McClements, 80 of Goodyear, Arizona passed away on July 13, 2024, after a long battle with COPD.
Dick was born on May 11, 1944, in Herkimer, NY, the son of the late Ralph and Louise (Clover) McClements. He grew up in Newport, graduating from West Canada Valley Central School in 1962. He furthered his education at Geneseo University, graduating with his Doctorate in Education. Following his college graduation, he served in the U.S. Navy. Upon completing his military career, he served as school superintendent for various schools in New York, Mississippi, Massachusetts, Vermont, Wyoming and Arizona.
Dick was a devout Christian. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, loved football, a good game of golf, and traveling. He was proud of the book he wrote, "Death Poem".
Survivors include his fiancé, Charlene Brennan of Goodyear, AZ and Everett, MA; his two daughters, Shelley (David) Malenowski of Rome, NY, and Carrie (Bill) Hollis of Williamstown, NY; a son, Greg Hawkins and his fiancé, Shanna Williams of Piedmont, SC; his sister, Donna (Horace) Daniels of Orlando, FL; seven grandchildren, Benjamin, Thomas, Samuel, Jackson, Noah, Savannah and Joshua; and several nieces and nephews, especially his niece Shawn Latella and her husband Joe of Frankfort, NY. Dick was predeceased by his brother, William Fennimore and his future mother-in-law and close friend, Helen Donabedian.
There will be a Mass said in Frankfort, NY, Boston, MA and Goodyear, AZ. If anyone wishes to make a donation in his memory, please donate to the (DAV) Disabled American Veterans. Dick's inurnment will take place in Boston, MA. Local arrangements are entrusted to the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport.

Dearest Charlene. I know your heart is breaking but try to think of the wonderful life you shared over 27 years. Dick was a wonderful travel companion and loved being around people. I´m sure he´s made friends already. RIP Dick... love you
