Richard Joe Edward McCracken was born on January 13, 1965 in Sherman Texas to Richard and Jewell Armstrong McCracken. Weighing 3 pounds, they didn't think he would make it, but God had other plans. He attended school at Jefferson and Fred Douglas in Sherman Texas. Richard gained his angel wings on July 11, 2025 at the age of 60.

Richard had a smile that could light up the room. He never met a stranger and would pray for everyone. He loved his family and Jesus with all his heart. Richard enjoyed fishing, dancing, music, writing in his notebooks, coffee, chocolate milkshakes and watching game shows. He had a great sense of humor and loved to play jokes and pick on his loved ones.

He also had many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who were also very special to him.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Jewell McCracken, sister Tina McCracken, brother-in-laws Garry Neal, Garry Baze, & nephew Jessie Lynn Neal.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, July 16 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman. Services will be on Thursday, July 17 at 2:00 pm at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman officiated by Rodney Sprayberry with burial immediately following at Holloway Cemetery in Luella.
