Richard is survived by his wife of 27 years, Joanne Meglio of Murrells Inlet, SC; one son, Gerald Meglio and his wife, Jacqueline of Sunrise, FL; two grandchildren, Michael and Taylor Meglio; great grandchildren, Ariella and Antonella; step-sons, Robert and Thomas Petrizzo; mother- in-law, Sally Nappo; many supportive friends and neighbors; and special fur baby, Sally.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sons, Michael & Robert Meglio; brother, Robert Meglio; beloved dogs, Cosmo, Bella and Cindy.
The family would like to give a special thanks to their friends, Joanne and John Insinga & Lori and Jim Curtin. Thank you for everything you have done for us during this hard time.
Richard proudly served in the United States Navy as a Navy Seal. He was very patriotic and loved his country and God more than anything. He enjoyed hunting, shooting guns at the driving range, biking, playing pickle-ball, and spending time at the beach. He also enjoyed sports and cheering on the Yankees, The Giants, and Clemson. Above all, he loved his family.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
The family has requested that memorial donations be made in Richard's name to the Tunnels to Towers Foundation, http://www.t2t.org
