Richard Miller Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Campfield Hickman Collier Funeral Home, Inc. - Barberton on Dec. 15, 2025.
Richard "Rick" Miller was called home by his Savior on Friday, December 12, 2025, joining the "Heavenly Parade" he so often sang about. Born on October 5, 1955, Rick lived a life marked by deep faith, selfless service, and unwavering love for his family and the Lord he served with his whole heart. Rick was an extraordinary man who's first and foremost priority was Jesus Christ. As a devoted follower of Christ, his faith was not merely spoken, it was lived out daily. This devotion was evident in every role he held, but most profoundly in the way he loved his family. Many witnessed his passion for God, his family, and his country, and his tireless commitment to serving them all. Scripture guided Rick's life, and one verse that reflected his heart was Acts 20:35: "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Rick embodied these words through a life of generosity, humility, and service. Rick faithfully served as a public servant for more than 30 years with the United States Postal Service, retiring from the Wadsworth Post Office. Beyond his career, he was deeply involved in ministry. Set apart at an early age, Rick answered God's call to preach the Gospel, a calling that took him across the United States and beyond its borders to Mexico and Russia. On mission trips, he not only shared the message of Christ as the "Living Water," but also provided fresh, clean water, shelter, and food to those in need. Blessed with a God-given zeal for sharing the Word, Rick's passion for ministry never waned. He served his community tirelessly, officiating countless weddings, baby dedications, and funerals. He was a mentor and a spiritual father to many, offering wisdom, encouragement, and steadfast faith.Though Rick held many titles and accomplished much, the role he cherished most was that of father and grandfather. He leaves behind a powerful legacy of faith and love through his children: Jeremy (Suzzannah) Miller, Joshua Miller (Rachel), daughter-in-law Liz Miller; and his beloved grandchildren, Grayson, Westin, Tony, Gianna, Mackenzie, Isabelle, Darci, and Charli. He is also survived by his siblings Robert (Emily) Miller, Duane (Joanna) Miller, Patricia Miller, Pamela Cooper, sister-in-law Diana Miller and many nieces and nephews. Waiting to welcome him at Heaven's gates were his beloved wife of 40 years, Denise Miller; his son, Richard Miller II; his parents, Evelyn Willadean and Elmer Miller; his brother, David Miller; and his sister, Valerie Miller. Rick the love of Christ. His life was a testimony of faith in action, and his legacy will continue through the many lives he touched. While he will be deeply missed, those who knew and loved him rejoice in the assurance that he is now fully home, faithful servant, welcomed into eternal joy. Rick's funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton with Pastor Thomas Showalter officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 12 Noon until time of his service. "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not unto men." Colossians 3:23
