Richard Lee Mixon Jr.

Richard Lee Mixon, Jr., age 83, of Sulligent, AL, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at NMMC in Tupelo, MS. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 2:30pm from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services and burial to follow in the Sulligent City Cemetery. Bro. Jerry Oakes and Pastor Angela Metcalfe to officiate. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 1:00pm until 2:30pm.

Richard was born on August 23, 1942 in Beaverton, AL to the late Richard Lee Mixon, Sr. and the late Ola Weeks Mixon. He was a 1962 graduate of Sulligent High School. Richard previously worked at McCoy Manufacturing, Reltoc and finally NACCO, which he retired from after 25 years of dedicated service. He was known to be an avid golfer and truly enjoyed being outdoors, especially fishing and gardening. Richard was a very gentle and kind man, always supporting his family, community, and friends. He is leaving behind an honorable legacy of integrity and an unwavering love and devotion to his family and the beautiful town he served so humbly.
