Dick Modjeski PhD USMC was an outstanding gifted Dept of the Army senior executive, early AI technologist, patriot, accomplished marathon runner, India Jesuit graduate school educator, decorated US Marine, strong committed Catholic Father and deeply loyal friend to many. A man of unique broad wisdom.
A caring manly man with a GREAT sense of humor(always) and compassion taken to early from us. The kind of humorous man who could get the better part of an entire USAF Boeing 707 aircraft of soldiers laughing with his jokes. Even after there was an in flight emergency which caused us landing back into OSAN AB after takeoff. Once we landed safely with fire trucks on the OSAN runway we resumed the flight shortly there after to Kadena AB.
It was never a dull moment with Dick and he could relate to all who were lucky to be called his friend. He suffered mightily for many years from his Vietnam combat service but never complained. Rather he only looked for ways to serve his country, family and his friends never forgetting to pray the rosary and his Catholic faith.
We miss you a lot Dick! We'll run with you in heaven if we qualify for heaven.
