Richard Murray Obituary
Richard A. Murray, 70, of Sterling died Saturday December 20, 2025 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. Richard was born May 3, 1955 in Amboy the son of John Sr. and Sue (Rainbolt) Murray.
Richard worked at Dohrn for 29 years. He loved attending concerts, playing his drums, and his BMW. His favorite musician was Joe Bonamassa. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.
Survivors include one son Michael Murray of Ashton; two daughters Justine (Matt) Murray-Connelly of Sandpoint ID, and Nicole Reuter of Sterling; one sister Carolyn Reuter of Sterling; one brother John Jr. (Emilyn) Murray of Dixon; one brother-in-law David Neel of Dixon; two granddaughters Cora Murray of Sandpoint ID, and Zariah Thomas of Kewanee; nieces and nephews; and one special pet Ms. Kitty.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson Ethan Murray of Sandpoint ID; one sister Sandra Neel and one brother-in-law Bill Reuter.
Cremation rites have been entrusted to Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, and a Celebration of Life will be 2PM-4PM Saturday January 10, 2026 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling.
A memorial to Granny Rose Animal Shelter in Dixon. Cards and memorials may be sent to Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, P.O. Box 592 Sterling IL 61081, and will be forwarded to the family.
