Richard (Dick) James Myers, 96 of North Lawrence, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Born in Louisville, Ohio on June 17, 1929, to the late Seraphine and Frances (Merreot) Myers Bonewit; and married Carol Lawrence from North Lawrence on September 16, 1953.
He was an Orrville High School graduate and worked at Westinghouse Corp. (formerly Hagan) in Orrville for 42 years, retiring in 1989. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war as a mechanic and was stationed in Germany. He was a 64-year member of the Orrville American Legion Post 282. Richard enjoyed anytime there was a family gathering & watching an Ohio State Buckeye Football game. He especially enjoyed his annual fishing trips to Rice Lake in Canada.
He is survived by his loving family, which includes daughters, Debra (Kelley) Jordan of Platte City, MO, Lynn (William) Mutersbaugh and Michelle McNeill both of North Lawrence; seven grandchildren: Chad (Melissa) Mutersbaugh, Kyle (Amy) Mutersbaugh, Tyler (Natalie) McNeill, Dru (Shakara) Jordan, Jenna (Marilyn) Alvarenga-Jordan, Niklas and Nathan Jordan; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Judy (Ronald) Nahay of Hudsonville, MI; numerous nieces and nephews and step-brother, Roger Bonewit.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Seraphine and Frances Myers; his wife, Carol, who died December 13, 2014; brother, Laverne Myers; sisters, Ruth Bilderback Steiner, Helen McFarren, Betty Kinsey and Ethyl Walker Eagleson; brother-in-law's, Don Bilderback, Larry Steiner, Bob McFarren, Carl Kinsey, James Eagleson, Albert (Al) Fisher, Marion (Jim) Stewart, sister-in-law's; Sharon Stewart and Donna Fisher; step-father, Russell Bonewit; step-brothers, Roy, Gerald, Allen and Paul (Pete) Bonewit.
The family would like to thank the North Lawrence Fire Dept., Aultman Orrville and Ohio Hospice for their wonderful care.
Visitation will be held SATURDAY, November 15, 2025, 10:00am to 12:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12:00pm. Burial at Newmans Creek Cemetery, North Lawrence.
