Richard Joseph Nagel

Richard Joseph Nagel, 71 years old of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 20, 2024. He was under Hospice care in Sylvania, Ohio.
Richard was born September 13, 1952, in Monroe, Michigan. He was the oldest son of Louis and Agnes (Flory) Nagel. He was a 1970 Ida High School graduate. After graduation, Richard worked at Hy-Way Lumber, then N.A. Mans Lumber for many years until retirement. He was always a big Michigan fan and enjoyed watching any games they played. He also loved hunting, going to tractor shows, and any road trips, especially going Up North for Fall colors. Richard really treasured any time he could spend with his children. They meant everything to him. He enjoyed family get-togethers with siblings, nieces, nephews, and their children. He also provided the music. Richard always enjoyed life to the fullest, even having disabilities later in life.
Survivors include his sons Jared and Benjamin Nagel, his daughter Andie Wright, and his siblings Joanne Scheuerman, Robert (Laura) Nagel, Donna Gentner, Rita Nagel, Charles (Karol) Nagel, Brian (Tina) Nagel, and Laurie (Nick) Kissel. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Louis and Bernetta Flory, George and Hazel Nagel, his brother-in-law David Scheuerman, a nephew Sean O' Hehir and his great-niece Amelia Ford.
Cremation has occurred. Friends may gather on Tuesday July 9, 2024, from 10am until Mass at 11am at St. Gabriel Catholic Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church (Ida, MI). Father
Robert Bauer will officiate. Burial of cremains will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
