Richard Dean Nenne

Richard (Dick) Dean Nenne, age 76, formerly of Bristol, Illinois, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at his home in Conway, South Carolina.
He was born on August 4, 1947, in Streator, Illinois, the son of Frederick and Irma (Dahlbach) Nenne. Dick married (Cynthia) Dianne Martin on October 25, 1969 and they spent the next 54 happy years together. He was a loving husband, father, papa, son, brother, uncle, loyal friend and patriot who will be deeply missed.
Upon graduation from Toluca High School in 1965, he served his country in the United States Army and was deployed to Vietnam. In addition to raising a family, his many contributions to his community included being a Cub Scout den leader; girl's softball coach; Bristol, Illinois Township Trustee; Storybook Highlands Water Association president; Immanuel Lutheran Church Council and Building Committee member; and was a Teamsters Union member for 35 years.
He found enjoyment in his woodworking projects, caring for his yard, road trips on his Harley, all things cars and spending time with his family. Dick will always be remembered for his sense of humor and that twinkle in his eye. He was a man we were all proud to know.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Nenne of Conway, South Carolina; his children, Adam Nenne of Sheboygan, Wisconsin and Kara (Aaron) Dyer of Sherrard, Illinois; his grandson, Matthew Dyer; his 3 brothers and 5 sisters; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Irma Nenne; and his sisters Donna Nicol and Joyce Bakel.
A memorial service in South Carolina will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Burroughs Funeral Home in Murrells Inlet. A visitation in Illinois will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Toluca with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM.
