Kenneth Nenne Obituary

Kenneth E. Nenne

Born: September 7, 1944; Streator

Died: December 19, 2020; Rockford

WENONA – Kenneth E. Nenne, 76, of Wenona, passed away December 19, 2020, peacefully and surrounded by his family in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

Cremation rites have been accorded, and due to COVID-19, a celebration of life will be at a later date. The Hurst Funeral in Wenona is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ken was born in Streator on September 7, 1944 to Edward and Edna (Flesburg) Nenne. He married Linda Venturi on September 10, 1966. Ken was known by many as a reliable friend who knew no strangers. To his wife, he was the rock of the family for 54 years of love, support, and comfort. To his son, he provided guidance, set an example of great work ethic, and positive approach towards life. Ken always enjoyed being around family and friends where he made everyone laugh and feel comfortable.

In retirement, he loved to fish, play cards with friends, mow grass, and get into a truck anytime he could. He always said that there was never a day where he did not enjoy getting into a truck and going to work. He was a member of the Wenona Fire Department for over 39 years, Bethany Lutheran Church in Wenona, and the Teamsters Union where he retired as a truck driver for over 50 years.

Ken is survived by his wife, Linda of Wenona; one son, Tim (Donna) Nenne of Germantown Hills; one sister, Jane Schoepke of Wenona, and two nieces.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents.
