Richard was born on July 17, 1944 in Effingham, IL the son of John and Christine (Zacha) Ohnesorge. He worked as an auto body technician at Effingham Truck Sales for 35 years.

Family was always important, and he found joy in watching their activities, especially his grandchildren's sporting events. In fact, Richard was a fan of watching any sport. He also liked UConn Women's Basketball.
Richard always enjoyed his early mornings spent around a table at the Altamont McDonald's solving the problems of today. He also enjoyed keeping a well-maintained yard.
