Richard Osborne Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams-Gores Funeral Home on Dec. 11, 2025.
Richard Wesley Osborne, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, in Dansville, MI, at the age of 75. Born on July 21, 1950, in Lansing, MI, Richard was the son of Richard and Mary "Jean" (Bellingham) Osborne.
The devoted husband of Carol Osborne, Richard's love story with his wife was one for the ages, filled with shared adventures and mutual support. A proud father, he leaves behind a legacy of love and wisdom in his children, Richard A. (Evelyn) Osborne, Christie (Chad) Lutz, Jared (Nicki) Osborne, and step-children, Charles Erisman and Michael Erisman. His joy was multiplied by his grandchildren, Christiana Stampski-Osborne, Coralynn (Brendan) Austin, Nicholas Osborne, Raelyn Osborne, Cayden Lutz, step-granddaughter Danielle, two step-grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Camden Austin and Freya Austin, sister Kathleen (Dick) Corr, sister Sallie (Terry) O'Connell, brother Charles (Karen) Osborne, and many loving extended family.
Richard's career at General Motors was marked by his dedication as a Union Steward, where he was respected for his fairness and commitment to his colleagues. He embraced a second career as a delivery driver for John E. Green Company, where he continued to exhibit his strong work ethic until retiring in 2011.
An avid outdoorsman, Richard relished his time fishing and camping, often sharing these passions with his loved ones. He enjoyed bowling, golf, and shooting pool. He was also a fervent fan of NASCAR, U of M football, and cherished his 1968 Camaro Z28, which was more than just a car, but a symbol of his zest for life.
Richard's zest for life was infectious, and his enthusiasm for travel led him to explore new places, always eager for the next adventure. He particularly enjoyed trips to the casino with Carol, where they shared many laughs and created lasting memories.
Preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary "Jean" (Bellingham) Osborne, nephew Chad Osborne, and niece Jenny Branscum, Richard's spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.
Richard's family will receive friends on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home where his funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM with Pastor Pete Kroll officiating. Burial will take place at Prairieville Cemetery, with a luncheon to follow at the Faith United Methodist Church, Delton.
