Richard Anthony Osmer, 76, of Staten Island, NY, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Richard was a devoted husband to Jeanette Osmer, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. He was a proud and loving father to Alison Lundell and her husband Eric, and to Stephanie Higgins. His greatest joy came from being "Pepa" to his five grandchildren: Jack, Nicholas, Emma, Sean, and Sarah, whose activities whether on the field or on stage he never missed.
A lifelong fan of the New York Giants, Richard loved the simple joys in life: cheering on his team, coaching youth soccer, and supporting his grandchildren in every game and recital. His warmth, humor, and constant encouragement left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is also survived by his sister Ginny Schweizer and her husband Fred, 7 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews and is predeceased by his brother Fred Osmer.
Richard's legacy lives on in the love of his family and the countless lives he touched as a mentor, coach, and friend.
A memorial service to celebrate Richard's life will be held Friday, July 25th from 4-8pm at Hanley's Funeral Home, 60 New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, NY.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 26th at 10am, at Our Lady of Peace Church, New Dorp Lane, Staten Island, NY.
