Rich was my CPA for decades, but really did double duty as a life counselor as well...his consistent sunny outlook was an inspiration, even when his own life circumstances were anything BUT ideal. He will be missed. Our lives will be a bit less now without him.

In 1982, when my wife, Linda and I moved to Denver from California where I began serving as a young associate pastor at the church where Rich was the Treasurer and on the board, he immediately became like an 'older brother' to me. Over the years, after we left that ministry assignment, became church planters, then did missionary work, seminary professor, and other things, Rich was always the ballast... helping us, not only with the 'tall grass' of taxes and finance, but with Godly advice, kindly words of encouragement, and always a smile and a laugh! Our lives are richer because of Rich Palik!! We miss you friend, but we know that you are happier right now than you have every been and for that, we are thankful to the Lord! Rest in our Lord's arms dear friend!!

Rich was a profound source of strength and encouragement as a friend and treasurer of our ministry board of directors. He brought the light of God within him to the world around him and always encouraged me to do the same. He didn’t mince many words and always provided insight and purpose with strength of conviction in a loving way. Rich lived out the ever-permanent quote on the top of his conference room whiteboard, “You always make a profit when you give yourself away to others.” He has left an indelible permanent mark on me of how we are to live out this life gifted to us. The only comfort we can find in his passing is the quote, “Death is not the extinguishing of the Light — it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come.”
