Richard Peek Obituary

Richard was born on August 21, 1936 in Peculiar, MO, a son of Albert Levi and Naomi Mae (Winchell) Peek. He was a lifelong Peculiar area resident and was a 1954 graduate of Peculiar High School. Immediately after high school, Richard started working for Sears-Roebuck on the Country Club Plaza, and later moved to the Metcalf store in Overland Park, Kansas, retiring in 1991 after 38 years. In his spare time, he liked to raise cattle on the farm.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rita, on June 14, 2015; five brothers; and two sisters. He is survived by his son, Richard Peek, Louisburg, KS; a stepson, David Stevenson, Peculiar, MO; a stepdaughter, Dena Shipley, Mound City, KS; two sisters: Dorothy Burch, Peculiar, MO; and Katherine Saville, Garden City, MO; and a grandson, Austin Stevenson.
