Betty Edith Peek, 96, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, surrounded by her family.
A longtime resident of Midland, Betty was born on September 13, 1928, to Vern and Hazel Klink of Hemlock. She married Earl R. Peek on March 26, 1949, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. Betty graduated from Ferris State University and had a fulfilling professional life, with careers in bookkeeping and real estate. She worked for Dow Chemical and the Voluntary Action Center of Midland, and later served as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels.
She loved the Michigan outdoors and spent many happy hours mushrooming, fishing, and snowmobiling with friends. Above all, she cherished time with her family and found great joy in supporting her grandchildren's activities.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Christine (Michael) Kaczynski and Mary Beth (Joseph) Rousseau; her son-in-law, Eric Johnson; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earl R. Peek, and her daughter, Dee Ann Johnson.
A woman of kindness, quiet strength, and steady devotion, Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Private services for immediate family will be held at Ware Smith Woolever Funeral Home.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all the staff at Meridian Acres and the Care Team Hospice for the care and compassion they gave to Betty and her family.
Donations in Betty's memory may be made to Toni and Trish House in Auburn or to a hospice organization in your community.
