Richard C. Pollard, 85, of Carmi, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado, Illinois. He was born on October 28, 1939, in Enfield, Illinois, the son of Raymond and Reba Fern (Stallings) Pollard. Richard married Faye Cobb on November 12, 1966, and she survives. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Richard worked as a truck driver for K&C Trucking in Princeton and for Poshard Trucking. He had worked as an electrician and in carpentry and loved woodworking. Richard worked for a time at White County Lumber. He was also a minister. Richard enjoyed antiquing, semi trucks and Harley Davidson Motorcycles.
In addition to his wife, Faye Pollard of Carmi, IL, Richard is survived by his children, Richard "Richie" (Pamela) Pollard, Jr. of Bloomington, IL. and Raymond (Arleen) Pollard of Carmi, IL; grandchildren, Brian Pollard, Cristin (Luke) Henshaw, Jacob Pollard, Megan Pollard, Cameron Pollard and Rafael Pena; great-grandchildren, Gauge and Wesley; siblings, Pat Marler of Carmi, IL, and Robert (Sharon) Pollard of Carmi, IL; a sister-in-law, Ilene (Milas) Lettrell; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Marshall Pollard, Joyce Martin, Ann Norris, Billy Pollard, Paul Pollard and Jim Pollard.
Funeral services for Richard C. Pollard will be held at 5:30 p.m., Monday December 23, 2024 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, with full military rites provided by the Carmi VFW and American Legion. Family and friends may visit from 3:30 p.m. until time of service on Monday at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Richard's memory to the Mama T Scholarship Fund, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements. Donations may also be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
