On October 3rd, 2025, Richard was in a serious car accident and spent weeks in NTICU. After coming home, he followed all the doctors' orders and was making a miraculous recovery. Richard passed away on January 14, 2026 at his home at the age of 63. The son of the late William and Sherry (Miller) Poole was born January 12, 1963 in Bay City, Michigan. Richard was the kind of person who always had the best advice, and we will forever be changed by his wisdom. He was so funny and always knew how to make people laugh. He loved family BBQs, fishing, thrift store shopping, going out to eat, working, and painting. He was a hard worker and a loving presence in our lives, and his joy for the simple things made every moment special.

Richard is survived by his significant other, Judy Davis; best friend, Ms. Pearl; children, Richard (Samantha) Poole, Kassi Pagliughi, Richard Poole Jr., Rockyon Poole and Roseanna (Tyler) Poole; grandchildren, Faith, Mya, Alexander, Samuel, Avery, Valerie, Skylar, Amara, Zoey, Brett, Liam and Willow; brother and sisters, Barbara Poole, Connie Poole, Scott (Teresa) Poole and Stacey Poole; nieces and nephews, Shata, Kaetina, David, Nicholas, Natasha, Bessie, Gabrielle, Larissa, David, Shedel and Desiree; his extended family, Joshua (Angie), Gavin, Andrew, Jeff Jordan, Jeffery, Michelle, Mike, Taylor and Katlynn. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Mark and Daniel and one nephew, Jonathan “Baby John”.

At the request of Richard, cremation has taken place. Celebration of life will take place at the Maloney Manor, 210 Fitzhugh St., Bay City, MI 48708 on Sunday, January 25, 2026 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the wishes of the family.
