Richard Allen Probasco died Aug. 19, 2025, after a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 28, 1956, at Clinton Memorial Hospital, the son of Harold R. and Betty Jean Bevan Probasco. He was a 1975 graduate of Clinton-Massie High School and a 1979 graduate of Miami University.
Rick worked as a technical writer at Cincinnati Milacron until it closed. After that, he worked various jobs, most noticeably at Dayton Power and Light and as a caregiver.
Richard was a lifelong member of Springfield Friends Meeting, where he sang in the choir, and served as Sunday School treasurer. He was also a member of the Clinton County Community Band and sang in the Lebanon Area Artist Series Chorus.
Richard is survived by his sister Judith (Robert) Sargent, of Clarksville; his nieces Debra (Jill Acree) Berry of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Jody (Joseph) Hepp of Westerville, Ohio; his great nieces Josy (Ricardo) Hepp Bush and Danni Hepp; and his aunt Mary Kay (Wilson) Probasco, as well as several cousins. He was predeceased by his parents.
Services will be at Springfield Friends Meeting (121Todd's Fork Road) on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025. Visitation will be from 9:45 to 10:30; Music at 10:30; and the funeral service at 11 a.m.
