Richard M Rambler, age 86 of Jasper, Georgia passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. Richard was born on August 23, 1936 to Harry M. and Marion Gudeon Rambler in Chicago, IL.
Richard served for 30 years with the Atlanta Police Department retiring as a Lieutenant, and attended the FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia, Richard later retired after serving with the Pickens County Sheriff's Office.
Survivors include: Sons and daughters-in-law: Paul and Julia Rambler of Jasper, GA and Richard Jr and Susan Rambler of Jasper, GA; grandchildren: Meagan Rambler, Katherine Rambler, Kristen Rambler Nichols, Erin Rambler, Morgan Rambler Guffy, Melanie Rambler, Mallory Rambler Howard, great grandsons: Paxton McClung and Carter Reynolds; nieces: Valerie Kocolowski, Carol Denny, Jackie Ochsenknecht, and Janice Conklin, and other family also survive.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife June Marion Rambler; parents Harry and Marion Rambler; and sister Dianne M. Kocolowski.
Services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday September 27, 2025 in the chapel of Roper funeral home with Dallas Batson officiating. The interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery at a later date.
The family will be receiving friends at Roper Funeral Home on Saturday September 27, 2025 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pickens County Animal Shelter in Richard's memory.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Staff of Roper Funeral Home and Crematory.
