Richard Joe Rathbun Sr of Milford, NE passed away Tuesday December 6, 2022, at the Linden Village at the age of 74.
Richard was born May 12, 1948, in Imperial, NE to Dennis and Elsie (Tate) Rathbun.
Richard graduated from Hayes Center High School and then attended Western Nebraska Technical College in Sidney, NE.
On March 23, 1967, Richard was married to Sharon Fortner and from this union five children were born, Richard Jr, Corey, Misti, Billie, and Colt. Together they made their home in Hayes Center, NE.
Richard worked for the County of Hayes, Farmland, and was also an over the road truck driver.
Richard enjoyed horses, his Harley motorcycle, trips to Sturgis, SD, reading, working on cars, and his dogs. He also enjoyed time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his children Richard Rathbun Jr, Las Vegas, NV, Misti (Garry) Wismer, Seward, NE, Billie (Dave) Bledso, Milford, NE, Colt (Michelle) Rathbun, Dorchester, NE. Grandchildren Kari Ann Herr, Brandon Danielson, Randy Rathbun, Kayla Gasseling, Faith Nerud, Dylan Danielson, Gregory Mohr, Karen Wismer, Cori Jo Clark, Hannah Wismer, and 19 great grandchildren. Sisters Betty Jean Mintling and Jan Breeze.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife Sharon Rathbun, son Corey Rathbun, his parents, sisters Marth Gerih and Denyse Scott.
