Richard “Rich” M. Huffman,92 of Noblesville formerly of Royal Center passed away peacefully on Friday, October 31, 2025 at Five Star Residences of Noblesville.
Born on December 17, 1932 in Royal Center, he was the son of the late Donald and Helen (Marx) Huffman.
He was a 1950 Royal Center High School graduate.
On November 25, 1953 he married H. Arlene Bankson. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2015.
Rich worked at Royal Hardware, which had been in the family for 150 years, from the time he was in high school until he retired fully in 2002 and sold the Hardware to Roger’s Auction.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Cicero. And enjoyed Coffee & donuts after mass and breakfasts out with the “Sacred Heart Sages”, a gathering of men who liked socializing.
He enjoyed watching the church grow and the addition of many young children to the services. All the young children noticed Rich and would smile or wave at him during mass. He was like everyone’s “Grandpa.”
Survivors include his children, Melinda “Mindy” Etter (John) of Westfield, Mark A. Huffman (Linda) of Valparaiso and David W. Huffman (Karen) of Noblesville, grandchildren, Shaun Huffman (Sarah), Ryan Huffman, Madison Huffman, Jake DeFord (Abbi), Katie Huffman, and Sophia Huffman, great-grandsons Mason Huffman, Tank DeFord, and Remington Huffman and great granddaughter, Maisel De Ford due Nov. 12th.
He was also preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Huffman.
Services are on November 6, 2025, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 410 Pearl St., Cicero with Father Sean Pogue officiating.
Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00 on November 6, 2025, prior to the funeral.
Graveside Services will be at 3:00 p.m., November 6, 2025 at Kistler Cemetery in Royal Center.
