Richard “Rick” Alvin Schell, 73, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 under the tender loving care of Treasure Coast Hospice with his wife by his side.
Born in Evanston (now Chicago), IL to Robert and Mildred (nèe Jones) Schell, Rick graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting. He was a ATO Fraternity. Rick served in the U.S. Army Reserves. A CPA for numerous companies Rick and his wife finally retired to Stuart, FL. He was actively involved with Samaritan Center for Boys and Families (now known as Place of Hope), and was active in his church, St. Lukes Episcopal Church. He was a part of the vestry and finance committee.
Rick is survived by his wife of 44 years Brenda (nèe Blyler) Schell of Stuart, FL, his three children Nicky and her husband Kris Horton of Lebanon, TN, Holly and her husband Matthew Thompson of Lebanon, TN and Ryan Schell of Stuart, FL; his grandchildren Kallihan, Ty, Nash, Camden, Hadley and Nolan; nieces and nephews and many loving and caring friends.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Lukes Episcopalian Church, 5150 Se Railway Avenue, Stuart with the Service at 11:00 am with Fr. Paul Hartt officiating. Entombment will immediately follow at Boca Raton Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in loving memory of Rick would graciously be appreciated to be sent to St. Lukes Episcopalian Church where he had a great passion.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Martin Funeral Home, Stuart Chapel.
