Mr. Richard Michael “Ricky” Steele, age 61, passed away December 6, 2024. Born in DeFuniak Springs, Florida on January 8, 1963, to parents Don and Mary Steele, Ricky was a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs.

He was a devoted and loving son, brother, and uncle, and he loved his family immensely. He loved being with people, going to celebrations, and spending time with his family.

Ricky enjoyed many years of attending the ARC of Walton County. His parents were instrumental in starting the program, and Ricky always looked forward to his times there as his ARC friends were very special to him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don Steele, mother, Mary Steele, and brother, Tim Steele.

He is survived by his sister, Becky Saltsman, of DeFuniak Springs, special nieces and nephews, and his ARC family.

The family would like to thank Chautauqua Springs Health Center for their loving care, and an extra thank you to special caregiver Oma Trim.
